About Us
Welcome to Marsland Mental Health & Psychological Services—a boutique private practice in the heart of La Jolla Village, just steps from the ocean.
Our practice is grounded in the belief that healing happens in rhythm, much like the tide. Our logo reflects what we believe about life and healing: emotions move like waves, and growth happens in cycles. The wave symbolizes the ebb and flow of feelings, the highs, the lows, and everything in between. The circle represents the full journey: how we return to lessons, come full circle, and slowly become more grounded, resilient, and whole.
We specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, and gender identity issues. We also treat personality disorders, self-injury, suicidal thoughts, academic difficulties, and relationship challenges. We strive to help clients understand their difficulties, identify harmful patterns, and develop coping strategies to enhance their quality of life.
We provide a safe, supportive space to explore challenges and build coping skills. We also offer letters for academic accommodations, emotional support animals, and gender-affirming surgery, as well as psychological consultation to other mental health clinicians, leaders, and military commanders.
Reaching out for support can feel intimidating, but you don't have to do it alone. We offer a safe, affirming space where your experiences are honored and your identity is respected.

Our Approach
Therapy is a collaborative and individualized process.
At Marsland Mental Health and Psychological Services, we approach our work with intention, curiosity, and respect for your unique experiences, background, and goals-grounded in a trauma-informed, affirming, and culturally responsive perspective.
No two individuals are the same—and your care should reflect that
How We Work
We focus on helping you understand patterns, build insight, and develop practical tools that support meaningful, lasting change.
You remain at the center of the process. Your voice, your goals, and your pace guide the work.
Our role is to provide structure, perspective, and support—while helping you navigate challenges with greater clarity and confidence.
A Thoughtful, Evidence-Based Approach
Our work is grounded in evidence-based practices, including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
These approaches help you better understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—while developing effective strategies to improve your daily life.
What to Expect
Therapy begins with understanding your experiences, identifying your goals, and building a strong, supportive therapeutic relationship.
From there, we work together to:
Strengthen coping skills
Increase emotional awareness
Address unhelpful patterns
Create meaningful, sustainable change
A Space That Respects You
We are committed to providing a warm, inclusive, and affirming environment where you feel seen, respected, and understood.
